The Kimball Wiles Wildcats Chorus won the first-place trophy for Elementary Concert Choir at the recent Music USA Festival at Universal Studios. For the eighth straight year, the Chorus also earned all Superior ratings.
The festival draws ensembles from across the U.S. with a focus on "promoting music education through quality evaluation." Students perform for and are judged by leading music educators. They then participate in a workshop with an adjudicator. Groups also have an opportunity to visit the theme parks.
"Our Wildcats did an amazing job representing Kimball Wiles and Alachua County Public Schools in this festival," said Wiles music teacher Carrie Olson. "We're very proud of these young musicians."
