Right-Sizing Our Schools: An Update
The School Board of Alachua County has approved a right-sizing plan as part of the Our Schools – Future Ready initiative to address declining student enrollment and ensure resources are focused on strong educational programs and modern facilities.
Families will receive additional information later this spring about how these changes may affect their students.

All Alachua County Public Schools will be closed Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 20 for Spring Break. District offices will also be closed during this time.
Students and staff will return to school on Monday, March 23.

📢 Updated School Boundary Draft Maps Now Available
Revised draft school boundary maps—reflecting changes requested during the March 3 School Board meeting—have now been posted. Previous versions of the draft maps have been removed.

🗓 Next Step: The School Board will hold a special meeting on Thursday, March 12 at 6 p.m. to vote on the final maps. Public input will again be taken at that meeting.

Teaching students and families how to interact safely online and identify potential threats is an important part of digital safety and responsible technology use.
