This past weekend, Lowe’s donated supplies, materials, and even sent their amazing staff to help with a full grounds makeover on our campus. 🛠️💙

We are so grateful for their generosity and support—these improvements are just the beginning of the exciting changes you’ll notice at Alachua Elementary. Our students, staff, and families truly appreciate the partnership! 🍎✨

Our Alligator Artists had a wonderful time exploring the Element of Art: Line with Mrs. Smith! 🎨🐊 They kicked things off with the story Harold and the Purple Crayon to spark creativity, then practiced making fun lines like scalloped, zigzag, and spiral. Students used these lines to create their own unique drawings and finished the lesson by decorating their art portfolios, which will be filled with masterpieces throughout the year! ✨🖌️

🚀✨ This week, Alachua Elementary teachers and students officially launched Instructional Empowerment on our campus! Our classrooms are buzzing with collaboration, critical thinking, and student-led learning. 📚💡

By moving from teacher-directed instruction to student-led team learning, we’re engaging our students in challenging, meaningful academic work through collaboration. This approach not only deepens understanding but also builds the cognitive, interpersonal, and self-management skills that prepare our Gators for lifelong success. 🐊💚
