We’ve had such a busy and exciting week at Duval! This week, students enjoyed two days of field trips out to the Farm to School Grow Hub. They had the opportunity to feed cows and chickens, learn about gardening, and even try some fresh vegetables right from the garden!

On Wednesday, we celebrated another attendance milestone. Our Dragons averaged 91% attendance last week which meant they got to draw with chalk on the large parking lot! We are so proud of our students for showing up each day ready to learn. Our new goal is 92% average daily attendance, because we know that being present is the key to learning and success!

We’re also excited to share that all students received a Duval Dragon t-shirt to wear on our field trips. The shirts help show that we are a group and make it easier to keep track of our little Dragons while we’re out and about. Please help your child keep track of their shirt so they can wear it on spirit days, future field trips, or just to school to show their Dragon pride! A huge thank you goes out to our sponsors—The Community Foundation of NCFL, Smith & Eulo Criminal Defense Lawyers, and Florida Credit Union—for making this possible!

Thank you, parents, for your continued support! We couldn’t do it without you! We’re excited to see what October brings for our Duval Dragons.

🎉 This morning we celebrated reaching our attendance goal with a dance party! 💃🕺 Our students earned it by having 90% average daily attendance last week—that means being present and ready to learn each day! 📚We love celebrating when we reach our goals. Let’s keep it up and aim for 91% next week—we know our students can do it! 🙌 Check out our Facebook page for videos!

Thank you to the team from UF Health that provided Stop the Bleed training for principals today. As with our recent training on reunifying families after a school crisis, today's session is another example of the district's commitment to the safety and well-being of students, families and staff.
