
Mrs. Brittany Wishin is a familiar face to Eastside as she begin her teaching career in the 2017 school year. She joined the Eastside team as a math teacher and over the years grew to add Robotics Club, Student Government Sponsor as well as Yearbook Advisor to her dedications. Entering her 10th school year at Eastside she will continue to be apart of our Ramily in her new role as Assistant Principal of Curriculum.
Mrs.Wishin is a double gator with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and a Master’s degree in Mathematics Curriculum from the University of Florida. She additionally completed a second Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2025.
When asked about her new role she says “ I am excited to continue to serve Eastside in my new capacity. Coming into work everyday leaves me incredibly fulfilled and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere other than the Best Side.”
Outside of serving the Best Side, Mrs.Wishin and her husband Joseph Wishin run two local businesses. Wishin Wellness and PressureWorks pressure cleaning. She enjoys backpacking through mountains, live music, and yoga to relax and recharge in order to give her all on campus.

Cody Sheppard has been named Assistant Principal of Administration at Eastside High School. “I’m excited for an opportunity to return to Eastside High School a school rich in history and pride.”
Mr. Sheppard graduated from Jones High School in Orlando, Florida in 2011. A member of multiple sports teams and clubs he earned an academic scholarship to the University of Florida where he majored in Family Youth and Community Sciences. He later earned a Masters from the University of Florida in Elementary Education and a Masters from Florida Gulf Coast University in Educational Leadership.
He began his professional career working for the Boys & Girls Club of Alachua County as Unit Director for the Southeast Unit in Lincoln Estates and later the Northwest Unit. In 2018 he transitioned to the education field and began working at Lake Forest Elementary as a fourth grade teacher, his other stops include Talbot Elementary as a fourth and fifth grade teacher, Gainesville High School as a Dean, and most recently Howard Middle School in Ocala as Assistant Principal of Discipline.
He has enjoyed coaching softball over the last decade. His high school coaching career began in 2018 as the Head Softball Coach at Eastside High School. From 2021 - 2025 he coached softball at Gainesville High School as Assistant Head Coach and Junior Varsity Head Coach. During his tenure at Gainesville High School he helped guide the Lady Canes to four district championships, a regional championship and a state runner-up in 2024.
Mr. Sheppard’s wife Kichelle Sheppard serves as an Assistant Principal currently at Rawlings Elementary. Together they own Charlie’s Snow Shack a local shave ice business in Gainesville. They have two children who Kameron and Kai. Mr. Sheppard is excited to put on Orange and Green again and return to the Eastside Ramily! 🐏

Donald C Buie III has been named Athletic Director at Eastside High School, continuing a journey that has come full circle at his alma mater.
A member of Eastside High School’s Class of 2011, Buie was a standout football player who led the area in interceptions during his senior season. His accomplishments on the field earned him a football scholarship to Gardner-Webb University, where he played collegiately and graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
Buie brings a strong understanding of Eastside’s athletic programs and culture to the role. For the past four years, he has served as the Rams’ Defensive Coordinator, helping develop student-athletes and contributing to the success of the football program. He has also served as a classroom teacher at EHS as well. His commitment to discipline, accountability, and hard work has made a lasting impact on the athletes he coaches.
As Athletic Director, Buie will oversee all Eastside athletic programs while continuing to serve as Defensive Coordinator. He is dedicated to supporting coaches, enhancing opportunities for student-athletes, strengthening community partnerships, and building a culture centered on excellence in academics, athletics, and character.
“It is a tremendous honor to serve as Athletic Director at the school that helped shape me as a student-athlete and person,” said Buie. “Eastside has always been home, and I am excited to continue working with our coaches, athletes, families, and community to pursue championships and provide outstanding opportunities for our students.”
Buie is a proud father, educator, and coach who remains committed to developing young people both on and off the field while upholding the proud tradition of Eastside Rams athletics.

Students tackled the real-world challenge of reducing distracted teen driving presenting creative ideas, action plans, and incentives to promote safer habits behind the wheel. Our winning team impressed judges with innovation, teamwork, and a commitment to making a difference.
