Why I Chose Lincoln and Why You Should Too

By Keegan Bultemeier

Out of all the middle schools I visited, Lincoln was the one that truly spoke to me. The others had their fun gimmicks, but none of them truly captivated me—until I walked through the doors of Lincoln Middle School. I still remember taking my seat in the auditorium when suddenly, violinists, cellists, bassists, and violists filled the stage. I had been playing the violin for about five years, and none of the other schools I visited had an orchestra. They all had bands, sure, but none featured my instrument—the violin. I immediately turned to my mom and asked if I could join the orchestra. Before long, I was walking into Lincoln for my very first day.

Throughout my years in the Lyceum, I’ve met incredible friends, teachers, and staff who have all worked to make Lincoln a truly special place to learn. Now, as an eighth grader taking both Orchestra and Theatre, I’ve been able to pursue my passions fully. Whether your interests lie in Art, Theatre, Orchestra, Robotics, or any of the other amazing programs here, Lincoln gives you the opportunity to explore them all.

When I leave, I know I’ll miss Lincoln deeply. It’s not just a school—it’s been a meaningful part of my life. The past two years have meant so much to me, and while it will be hard to say goodbye, I know a new generation of aspiring leaders will soon walk these same halls and make their own memories here.
