Why I Chose Lincoln and Why You Should Too
By Avinoor Jutla
I remember walking into Lincoln’s doors into the open house, expecting this open house
to be just as mediocre as all the others. I was completely wrong. From the sounds of the violins
to the student testimonials, everything about Lincoln said prestige. When I was sitting there, I
was thinking, this is the school I want to be in. After finally walking into the school doors on the
first day, I knew that I had made the perfect choice.
During my time through Lincoln I have witnessed so many amazing things. The clubs
and extracurricular activities are actually fun, the campus and student experiences are endless,
and the overall feel of the school truly tells something. There are several students that do
activities like Theatre and Band/Orchestra, which both are showered in unanimous praise and
fame both in school and around the district.
Personally, I have received a lot from this school. I was part of several clubs, including
science clubs as well as math teams. I am currently part of our Speech and Debate team, and
with the help of our amazing coach, I have won several nationwide titles. In addition, there are
several individual activities that you can do here, like competing in the Science Fair, and from
the perspective of academic rigor, Lincoln never disappoints.
When I leave this school, I truly will miss it. It was a fun 3 years, which also was really
meaningful to me as well. However, in my final few months, I can close this chapter knowing
that there is already a new generation of 5th graders who are going to make this school so much
better than it already is.
