OAK VIEW MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS!
The Director and student Officers of our ACADEMY OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE Magnet Program will be at your school on Wednesday (October 15th), to visit with 8th grade students and share information about our Magnet Program for the 2026-2027 school year enrollment.

The ACPS Annual Magnet Showcase will be held on Saturday (October 25th) from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Alachua County Sports and Events Center at Celebration Pointe in Gainesville (4870 Celebration Pointe Avenue). If you are interested in finding out more about participating in our Magnet Program for the 2026-27 school year, or any other Magnet Program offered by Alachua County Public Schools, please make sure to come out and meet Mr. Treese and current Program students!
The NHS Open House & Expo will be held on Monday (October 27th) from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on the NHS campus so you can see all our Program has to offer, speak with our Academy Director (Patrick Treese), as well as current and former Academy students. Law Enforcement agencies will also be participating for you to glimpse some of the career opportunities that can become available after completion of the Academy of Criminal Justice program. In the spirit of Halloween, law enforcement professionals will have Trick or Treat goodies for students who attend (while supplies last). No costumes, please Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to look into your possible future!
"Shadow Day" for OVMS students is scheduled on Friday (December 5th) from 8:30 am until 11:30 am so you can have an opportunity to take a peek into a day at Newberry High School. This date is based on your CURRENT school enrollment and we cannot accommodate requests for alternate dates. The sign up form to request participation in our Shadow Days will be available starting on Tuesday (October 28th) and close on Wednesday (November 19th). NOTE: Each Shadow Day is strictly limited to participation of 25 students and requests are considered in the order they are received. If your submission is received after that number is reached, your child will be placed onto our waiting list.
