AP Environmental Science students on field trip

Students in our AP Environmental Science class participated in a field trip last Friday with their teacher, Mrs. Spina, kayaking four miles along the Santa Fe River. During the trip, students observed key geological and watershed features, including springs and exposed karst terrain. They identified several invasive species and discussed possible mitigation strategies, while also recognizing native wildlife such as the American alligator, various turtle species, mullet, and egrets. In addition, students examined potential sources of pollution affecting the river. Water samples were collected for further analysis, which will be conducted upon returning to the classroom lab. 💙💛🐾
