Mr. Stanquist’s Civics classes have been researching student-generated topics for National History Day.

OVMS student art displayed during the month of March in the boardroom.

Inspired by the bright, piñata-style artwork of Justin Favela and the painted-paper collage technique of Eric Carle, Mrs. Pare's art students created layered landscapes using hand-painted papers. After painting their own textures and colors—much like Carle’s process—students cut and arranged the pieces to build bold, vibrant scenes.

By organizing their shapes into foreground, middle ground, and background, students learned how artists create depth, movement, and space in a collage. Each artwork shows a unique interpretation of place through color, texture, and creative layering.
