We are pleased to welcome Ms. Rachael Shaw to Loften, where she will leverage her 21 years of experience teaching mathematics and science. Prior to her teaching career, Ms. Shaw served in the Army Reserves for 9 years. As a mother of two daughters, aged 14 and 10, she enjoys traveling, gardening, and engaging in arts and crafts in her free time. We are thrilled to have her join the Loften community.

We are delighted to introduce Jennifer Caldwell, a seasoned Alachua County Public Schools employee since 2003 and a proud graduate of the system, to Loften High School. Throughout her 18-year tenure, she has excelled in various roles, including Activity Leader for the E.D.E.P. program, paraprofessional, teacher, guidance clerk, bookkeeper, and executive assistant. We are thrilled to have her expertise and enthusiasm on our team.

We are delighted to introduce Mr. David Hardy, our new math and science instructor. With a strong background in education, Mr. Hardy initially relocated to the Gainesville area in 1997 and began his teaching career in 2004. Over the past 15 years, he has taught a range of secondary mathematics and served as an assistant principal at both middle and elementary levels for 7 years. His wife, also an educator, has dedicated the last 20 years to Oak View Middle School. They are proud parents of a sophomore student here at Loften. Notably, Mr. Hardy was born and raised in Saudi Arabia, bringing a unique perspective to our academic community.

Hailing from Sumter County, Florida, Mr. Noe has spent 15 years serving as a dedicated teacher and coach. Outside of the classroom, he prioritizes family, outdoor pursuits like hiking and gardening, and exploring virtual worlds through video games. Mr. Noe is deeply committed to the notion that nurturing future generations through education is essential to the advancement and prosperity of our society.

We are pleased to introduce Mr. Tanner, our new English teacher at Loften. With ten years of teaching experience in both private and public schools, Mr. Thomas returns to Gainesville from Montgomery, Alabama, where he spent the last three years. In his free time, he enjoys reading, staying active, and spending time with his family. A proud TCU supporter, we are delighted to welcome him to our team.

The National Technical Honor Society collected over 1,400 gently used shoes that will now be sent to micro-entrepreneurs around the world. Thank you to all the teachers, families, and students who helped make this a success.



IGAD's Art Exhibition and Loften's Awards Night are both on Friday, May 22. The Art Exhibition reception and show are from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the IGAD Building. The Awards Ceremony will be in the MPR at 6:00 pm. We look forward to seeing you!

Our SGA never stops! This weekend, they went above and beyond by volunteering their time to fundraise by working concessions at the highly-anticipated Morgan Wallen concert, where they got to see the country music star perform live while also giving back to their community. We're so proud of their dedication and enthusiasm! 💪🎉
