The air was filled with anticipation as the Raiders took on Newberry High School in their first game of the 2026 -2027 football season. The band played and kept the stands motivated. The cheerleaders pumped up the crowd. And the Varsity football players left it all on the field with a 30 to 16 victory. We got to see it all: run plays, strikes through the air, interceptions, and tackles. The defense kept NHS to just 16 points while the offense punched through their line over and over. Our kicker started us on the board and kept their offense on the 20 yard line all night to start each set of downs. You could feel the energy from alumni, community, families, students, and faculty. What a way to start the season!!
