Families, it’s almost time! Our district’s Magnet Program applications will officially open on December 2, and now is the perfect moment to explore the many opportunities available for students across Alachua County.
Our magnet programs are designed to inspire curiosity, challenge students academically, and connect them with areas they’re passionate about—from STEM and the arts to career exploration, and beyond. Whether your child thrives in a hands-on engineering environment, a creative arts setting, or a rigorous college-prep pathway, there’s a place for them to shine.

Our Transportation Department is hosting a hiring event on November 18th and 19th from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the ACPS District Office (620 E. University Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32601).
We’re looking for dependable team members to help support student transportation across Alachua County.
Full-time and part-time positions available, with paid CDL Class B training and certification, competitive pay, and a full benefits package.

Honoring all who served.
In observance of Veterans Day, all Alachua County Public Schools and district offices will be closed Tuesday, November 11.
Normal operations will resume on Wednesday, November 12.

More than 150 educators from 20 elementary schools joined the sessions , including K–2 and 3–5 teachers, interventionists, paraprofessionals, and even long-term substitutes . All working toward one shared goal: strengthening early literacy instruction and supporting high-quality implementation of UFLI Foundations .

Fall Driver Education
Alachua County Public Schools is offering two options this fall:
🔹 Behind-the-Wheel Lab Only – for students who have already completed a Driver Education classroom course.
🔹 Classroom + Lab – for students who have not yet taken a Driver Education course (earn .5 credit).
Requirements:
✔ Must be 15 or older
✔ Must have a Learner’s Permit (for Lab Only option)
📅 Classes begin this fall
💲 Fees: $200 (Lab Only) | $250 (Classroom + Lab)
