Since 2023, Hawthorne Middle/High School has achieved the second-highest overall percentage-point increase in ACPS and has led all secondary schools in percentage-point growth for the past two consecutive years. #SchoolOfChampions #Kaizen

Great partnerships create life-changing opportunities. This summer, Hawthorne students took another exciting step toward their futures as we hosted our first-ever on-campus PERT administration! This milestone would not have been possible without Ms. Doll's dedication, advocacy, and commitment to removing barriers for students pursuing dual enrollment. Thank you for helping our Hornets thrive! 🧡🖤

Looking for an opportunity to unlock your potential? Take a look at the DOP R.E.A.C.H. program!

Rising juniors and seniors who are interested in dual enrollment should come take the PERT at Hawthorne on June 24th at 10:00 AM.
Students who applied for the fall but did not gain acceptance are encouraged to take the section of the PERT that they did not pass. Ms. Doll is working with the DE office to review applications for the fall based on new test scores.

Our middle school engineering students wrapped up the 3rd nine weeks with an out‑of‑this‑world launch, and they did it using nothing more than everyday school supplies like cardstock and tape. Under the guidance of Mr. Murray, students explored design, precision, and problem‑solving as they sent their handmade rockets soaring skyward. Their hard work and curiosity continue to lift learning to new heights, and we’re grateful for Mr. Murray’s dedication to helping them reach for the stars.
A big congratulations goes to Robert A., whose rocket traveled the farthest distance in the first launch of the day. A special shout‑out also goes to Savannah S., whose final‑round rocket flew the farthest overall, coming within just a few feet of a full football field. Both students showed impressive creativity, perseverance, and engineering know‑how.
