Starting tomorrow, Tuesday, August 20th, our 5th grade Safety Patrol will be assisting students from car drop-off to their classroom or to the cafeteria for breakfast. With this support, all students—including those with special needs—will receive help, so there is no need to park and walk them in.
We have more car riders than ever this year, so thank you for your patience and cooperation. A quick reminder—there is no parking on SW 20th Terrace, as this is the bus route.
Thank you for helping us keep our Eagles safe each morning!

📣 It’s Here! A better way to stay connected!
Starting today, you’ll receive messages, updates, and announcements from your child’s school right inside the Alachua County Public Schools app—or by text and email if you prefer.
Check out this short video with more information!
This is communication, simplified!

Idylwild Morning Late Arrival Procedures
Thank you for keeping our students safe!
What is Considered Late?
The tardy bell rings at 7:45 a.m.
Students must be in their classroom by 7:45 a.m. to be on time.
Any student arriving after 7:45 a.m. is tardy and must be checked in by a parent or guardian.
Where to Enter?
All late students must enter through the Main Office Entrance with an adult.
The School Resource Officer will monitor the door to ensure students are not dropped off alone.
Parent Responsibilities
Do not drop off and drive away. An adult must walk the student into the front office.
Stay with your child until the full check-in process is complete.
Parents must sign in their child and help complete the check-in form.
This ensures your child is safely accounted for and ready to start their day.
Check-In Process
There will be 2 indoor check-in lines (limit: 6 families inside at a time).
If the office is full, please form a line outside the front entrance.
Once checked in, your child will receive an "Admit to Class – Tardy" pass.
Front office staff will mark attendance as "Tardy."
Why This Matters
Students cannot enter class without a check-in pass.
This helps us keep accurate attendance and ensures your child’s safe arrival.
We appreciate your partnership in making sure students arrive on time and ready to learn!

Morning Drop-Off
Drop-off begins at 7:15 a.m. – No student should be dropped off before this time (no staff supervision).
Stay in your vehicle. Do not park or walk students to the gate or classroom.
Pull forward as directed by staff.
Students must exit on the sidewalk side with staff assistance.
All students enter through the front gates monitored by staff.
*Families may walk with their Kindergarten student to class on day 1 ONLY (Aug.11)
Parents / Guardians are not allowed to walk *K, 1-5th grade students to the classroom
Vehicle tags are available for pick up throughout the day in the front office (not during arrival or dismissal times)
Afternoon Pick-Up
Pick-Up Times:
Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri: 1:52 p.m.
Wednesday: 12:37 p.m.
Display your Pick-Up Sign in the front window of your vehicle with:
First & Last Name (LARGE Print so staff can easily read)
Grade
Pull forward and stay in your vehicle.
Staff will bring your child to your car.
Wait in line until released by staff.
Safety Reminder
Do not walk students across the parking lot or street.
Stay in your car at all times.
Safety is our top priority—thank you for helping keep all students safe!
