In this practical, insight-driven session, our school counselor will walk families through what to expect at each stage of the high school journey and how to provide the right support at the right time. She will include strategies for helping students stay organized, manage stress, make thoughtful academic and extracurricular choices, and prepare for life after graduation.

🎓🌟 Gold Standard in Advanced Placement Excellence! 🌟🎓
We are proud to announce that Buchholz High School has been named to the 2025 College Board AP Honor Roll, earning GOLD STATUS!
This recognition is based on three key measures of student access and success in AP coursework—and Buchholz exceeded every benchmark:
📘 70% of graduating seniors took at least one AP exam
🏅 61% earned a score of 3 or higher, qualifying for college credit
🚀 27% took five or more AP exams, including at least one in 9th or 10th grade
To earn Gold Status, schools must meet rigorous criteria—and our students and teachers rose to the challenge. This achievement reflects our commitment to academic rigor, early access to advanced coursework, and college readiness for all students.
👏 Congratulations to our students, teachers, and families on this outstanding accomplishment!

🚨 SCAM ALERT – PLEASE READ & SHARE 🚨
We’ve been made aware of a very convincing scam targeting families of students who take the PSAT, SAT, or AP exams.
📞 How the scam works:
You receive an unsolicited phone call from someone claiming to be from the College Board (or another educational organization).
The caller says they’re just “confirming your address” to send test prep materials your child supposedly requested at school (books, CDs, videos, flash drives, etc.).
⚠️ Why it seems believable:
The caller may already know your child’s name, school, test date/location, phone number, and home address.
They sound professional and informed, which lowers your guard.
💳 The red flag:
They say the materials must be returned within 30 days or you’ll be charged $249.
They ask for a credit card to keep on file in order to send the materials.
❌ This is a scam.
The College Board does NOT call families to send unsolicited test prep materials.
They do NOT require a credit card for free resources.
✅ What to do:
Do not provide any personal or payment information.
Hang up immediately.
Report the call and warn others.
Please share this post to help protect other families. When in doubt, always contact the organization directly using official contact information.
