In compliance with a new Florida law (HB 1105), Alachua County Public Schools has updated its guidelines for student use of cell phones and other personal wireless communication devices for the 2025–2026 school year.
🔹 Elementary & Middle Schools (including High Springs Community School, Oak View Middle, and Hawthorne Middle/High):
Devices must be powered off and out of sight from arrival to departure.
🔹 High Schools (except Hawthorne and A. Quinn Jones):
Devices must be off and away during instructional time.
Teachers may allow use for instructional purposes only.
🔹 Extracurricular Activities:
Middle and high school students may use devices during these times.
💻 Students will continue to have access to district-approved instructional technology during the school day.
