The School Advisory Council (SAC) is a group of parents, teachers, staff, and community members who work together to support our school. This team helps review goals, share ideas, and give input on decisions that impact our students. The SAC committee typically meets four times per school year. Nominations for new members are accepted during April, with elections in May. You may self nominate, or nominate someone else (with their consent) by responding to this email. The deadline to nominate is April 30. Elections will then be held by this year SAC committee in May.

Dear Irby Families,
This morning at 8:30 AM, we successfully completed a scheduled Active Assailant Lockdown drill on campus.
Students and staff practiced our “LOCKDOWN! Locks, Lights, Out of Sight.” safety procedure. The drill went smoothly, and our students did a great job following directions.
These drills are an important part of keeping our school prepared and helping everyone know what to do in an emergency.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the front office.
Thank you for your continued support,
-The Irby Team

Graduation rates for the seven ACPS high schools rose in 2025, from 92.7% to 93.9%. All seven schools posted rates above 90%.
Tomorrow, we will recognize Law Enforcement Appreciation Day and take time to thank the law enforcement officers (particularly our very own Officer Hudson aka "Papa bear") who support our school and community.
We are grateful for their commitment to keeping our students, staff, and families safe, and for the positive relationships they build with our school each day. If you see a law enforcement officer tomorrow, we encourage you and your students to share a kind word, smile, or thank-you.
We appreciate their service and dedication to our community!
