The journey continued through space with concert number 3 for our Symphonic, Symphonic Winds, and Wind Ensemble bands. They impressed us with the craft and ownership of the music. The night also highlighted Alex Bubenik as he composed and played a piano solo and the entire Wind Ensemble played an original composition by Alex. Our students do not just play the music but go beyond. We are so proud of all of our students and the talents they showcased.

Our second band concert featured our Beginning bands (3 different classes with over 100 students), Concert Band, and Wind Ensemble. The theme was Space. They took us a journey that highlighted all of their talents and sent us soaring to new heights. We are so proud of the beginning band students to see how far they have come in one year. Our Concert Band students and Wind Ensemble showcased what the next levels look like and how they expand their musical talents. We even had 2 beginning band tuba players write their own music and perform it.

KMS Band department showcased our first groupings with their concerts this week. We started with Color Guard showing us their stamina and growth. They were just spectacular. Steel Drums followed up with music played by students who were playing their 2nd or 3rd or 4th instrument that they have learned to play in our bands. Way to go!! Beginning and Advanced Chorus sand beautiful melodies to end the night. We are so proud of all of you.

Wind Ensemble band competed in the Smokey Mountain Music Festival. Results are in....1st place. On top of that they scored the highest out of all the middle and high school bands including orchestra, jazz, and chorus. This was a huge accomplishment. MaryAnne Leko and Laila McCaslin received special recognition for their outstanding solos. Way to go Coyotes!!
