The STEAM Magnet Program at Metcalfe Elementary offers opportunities for students to engage with Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics in innovative ways from exploring with robots to building structures from household items. This event will preview the many ways that our schools provides innovative experiences for our students!

We are excited to announce the initiation of the Metcalfe Parent Teacher Association! The purpose of the PTA is to unite parents, teachers, and school staff in advocating for students, enhancing our school community, and supporting educational programs through fundraising, volunteerism, and communication. No Lights, No Problem! Yesterday, the power went out across the entire campus at Metcalfe, but that didn't stop our scholars from learning and their incredible teachers from teaching! Shout out to our dedicated rock star educators at Metcalfe Elementary School where they make a difference EVERY DAY!

The Florida Department of Health has created a website (floridahealth.gov/diabetes) for the families of PreK - 1st grade students on the early detection of diabetes.

Yesterday, Metcalfe had our first school-wide S.T.E.A.M. Wednesday! These take place on the last Wednesday of each month. This month, 4th grade built various structures out of objects found around the house. Check out the creativity of our 4th grade scholars!

The School Board voted to approve the state's Uniform Assessment Calendar for the 2025-2026 school year. A copy of the approved calendar has been placed on our school website.

It's time for our beginning of the year assessments! Parents and Guardians, be sure to have your students to school on time for breakfast and get a lot of rest so they are ready to perform their best!

Early release Wednesdays start August 13 at all elementary schools and High Springs Community School, A. Quinn Jones School, Sidney Lanier School and Duval Early Learning Academy. Specific school hours are available at alachuaschools.net/schoolhours
