Here are the announcements for Friday, October 2nd:
REMINDER: For the safety and security of everyone on campus, please DO NOT open any gates for anyone, even if you think you may know them. During school hours, students and visitors MUST ONLY be allowed entry onto our campus through the Attendance Office at the front of the school.
After school CROP sessions for students who are credit deficient for graduation will continue next week (Monday through Wednesday) in Computer Lab 3 from 3:20 pm until 6:20 pm. Please note we are not able to offer CROP sessions during the school day, so this is the ONLY opportunity to earn replacement grades for credit deficiencies until we offer after school CROP sessions in Spring, 2027 (dates to be determined). If you have any questions, please contact the NHS Guidance Office ASAP.

REMINDER: Florida law significantly limits when students may use cell phones or other personal wireless communication devices, such as smartwatches, earbuds, headphones, and tablets. These devices must remain powered off and stored out of sight during instructional time. Students have access to district-approved instructional technology throughout the school day and families who need to reach their child due to an emergency or other safety concern should contact the NHS Front Office directly.
Congratulations to the Varsity volleyball team for their thrilling win over Union County High School last night! These Ladies remain UNDEFEATED at home and are looking to keep that momentum going. If you haven’t come out for a game yet this season, you don’t know what you’re missing!
Also, congratulations to the Boys’ Golf team for their win over St. Francis Catholic Academy yesterday out at the beautiful Turkey Creek Golf & Country Club! The team was led by seniors, Hunter Ives and Andrew Weseman. The boys take to the greens again tomorrow at the Country Club of Ocala as they play against St. John Lutheran School. Good luck!

Students are not allowed to bring Polar Cups or “to go” cups to campus. Water bottles are encouraged and we have several bottle filling stations around campus.

These devices must remain powered off and stored out of sight during instructional time. Students have access to district-approved instructional technology throughout the school day and families who need to reach their child due to an emergency or other safety concern should contact the NHS Front Office directly.

REMINDER: Panthers, don't forget to bring your laptop and charging cord to school EVERY DAY as most of the testing this year will be done on the laptops. Additionally, these laptops provide important access to digital textbooks and assist students in transitioning between classwork, testing, and homework. (If your laptop has stopped working or has other operational issues, please bring it to the NHS Front Office so we can investigate and diagnose any issues.)

Tickets are still on sale for the Homecoming Dance! The Dance will be held on Saturday (September 12th) at the Newberry Municipal Building from 8:00 pm until 11:00 pm. Tickets are $35.00 each and can be purchased from Mrs. Treese in her classroom before and after school. In order to purchase your ticket, you must be clear from the debt list and have approval from the Deans.
Panthers, don’t forget we want to see pictures of all the amazing activities, trips, sceneries, and family fun from your summer to include in this year's NHS yearbook, so make sure to email those pictures to Mrs. Treese at treeseem@gm.sbac.edu. The deadline to submit any pictures is TOMORROW!

Panther Prowl will be in the NHS Auditorium tonight! The Prowl will begin at 7:00 pm (doors will open at 6:30 pm for seating) and admission is FREE. After school CROP sessions for students who are credit deficient for graduation will be held after school beginning on Monday (September 14th) in Computer Lab 3 from 3:20 pm until 6:20 pm. Please note we are not able to offer CROP sessions during the school day, so this is the ONLY opportunity to earn replacement grades for credit deficiencies until we offer after school CROP sessions in Spring, 2027 (dates to be determined). If you have any questions, please contact the NHS Guidance Office ASAP.

REMINDER: ALL STUDENTS parking on NHS school property MUST have a parking permit, and you MUST park in your assigned parking spot. NO parking is allowed in any other areas on campus, including along the gym or the football field. If you park in any unauthorized area on the NHS campus or in a spot not assigned to you, your vehicle is subject to a ticket and your vehicle is subject to a ticket.
Tickets are still on sale for the Homecoming Dance! The Dance will be held on Saturday (September 12th) at the Newberry Municipal Building from 8:00 pm until 11:00 pm. Tickets are $35.00 each and can be purchased from Mrs. Treese in her classroom before and after school. In order to purchase your ticket, you must be clear from the debt list and have approval from the Deans.
Panthers, don’t forget we want to see pictures of all the amazing activities, trips, sceneries, and family fun from your summer to include in this year's NHS yearbook, so make sure to email those pictures to Mrs. Treese at treeseem@gm.sbac.edu. The deadline to submit any pictures is TOMORROW!
You can still pre-order your NHS Yearbook for $55.00! You can place your order for a Yearbook online at https://swiphoto.com/yb/ or see Mrs. Treese in her classroom to place your order (cash or check payable to Newberry High School). Mrs. Treese will be available in her classroom before school, during Lunch B, or after school to take your yearbook order.

Panther Prowl will be in the NHS Auditorium tonight! The Prowl will begin at 7:00 pm (doors will open at 6:30 pm for seating) and admission is FREE. Please come out and enjoy a great night of school spirit, action, and hilarity as our clubs, SGA groups, cheerleaders, and football players present an evening of fun for Homecoming!!
