REMINDER: ALL STUDENTS parking on NHS school property MUST have a parking decal and parking is ONLY permitted in designated areas (junior and senior parking lots). NO parking is allowed in any other areas on campus, including along the gym or the football field. If you park in any unauthorized area on the NHS campus, your vehicle is subject to a ticket and the possibility of being towed from the property.

After school CROP sessions for students who are credit deficient for graduation will resume next week (Monday through Thursday) in Computer Lab 2 from 3:20 pm until 5:20 pm. Additionally, these laptops provide important access to digital textbooks and assist students in transitioning between classwork, testing, and homework. (If your laptop has stopped working or has other operational issues, please bring it to the NHS Front Office so we can investigate and diagnose any issues.)

REMINDER: NHS is a closed campus and students are not permitted to leave campus for lunch. Additionally, students may not have food dropped off or delivered to them at campus. Students are not allowed to bring Polar Cups or “to go” cups to campus. Water bottles are encouraged and we have several bottle filling stations around campus.

For participants, that level of mentorship continues after students enroll at Santa Fe College, along with a stipend to cover the costs of their textbooks. Eligible students will also qualify for a full-tuition scholarship that picks up where financial aid leaves off, helping to pay for up to 60 credit hours at Santa Fe College. REMINDER: A new law passed by the Florida Legislature significantly limits when students may use cell phones or other personal wireless communication devices, such as smartwatches, earbuds, headphones, and tablets. These devices must remain powered off and stored out of sight during instructional time. Students have access to district-approved instructional technology throughout the school day and families who need to reach their child due to an emergency or other safety concern should contact the NHS Front Office directly.

Prom tickets are now on sale and you may purchase your tickets for $60.00 from Mrs. Troy before and after school in her classroom. You must be cleared from the debt list before purchasing your ticket.

The City of Newberry is holding the Annual Blues & BBQ Festival on Saturday (February 7th) and they are looking for volunteers. See Mrs. Honeycutt in the NHS Guidance Office for more information about available times and other details, or to sign up.

Destiny Community Church needs volunteers to help with their Father/Daughter Dance on Saturday (February 7th), from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm (students need to arrive at 4:30 pm). The requested attire is a white polo shirt and black slacks, and duties involve running food to the buffet tables, cleaning the tables and general area of trash, and helping clean up after the event ends.
