REMINDER: ALL STUDENTS parking on NHS school property MUST have a parking decal and parking is ONLY permitted in designated areas (junior and senior parking lots). NO parking is allowed in any other areas on campus, including along the gym or the football field. If you park in any unauthorized area on the NHS campus, your vehicle is subject to a ticket and the possibility of being towed from the property.

Parents and Students, please remember that there is no school tomorrow as there is a scheduled Teacher Workday to finalize our first semester grades.

Additionally, please remember there will be no school on Monday (January 19th) in order to honor the achievements of the civil rights leader, Martin Luther King Jr. on his birthday.

Tryouts for our Lady Panthers Softball team will be held after school on Tuesday (January 20th) at 3:00 pm on the NHS Softball Field.

REMINDER: Panthers, don't forget to bring your laptop and charging cord to school EVERY DAY as most of the testing this year will be done on the laptops. Additionally, these laptops provide important access to digital textbooks and assist students in transitioning between classwork, testing, and homework. (If your laptop has stopped working or has other operational issues, please bring it to the NHS Front Office so we can investigate and diagnose any issues.)

Students are not allowed to bring Polar Cups or “to go” cups to campus. Water bottles are encouraged and we have several bottle filling stations around campus.

Here are the announcements for Tuesday, January 6th:

REMINDER: For the safety and security of everyone on campus, please DO NOT open the entrance gate for anyone, even if you think you may know them. Students and visitors MUST ONLY be let into our campus by staff in the NHS Front Office. If you are asked to open the gate, please let them know that they must ring the bell to be buzzed in.

Girls’ tennis will have open court sessions after school today and Thursday (January 8th) beginning at 3:00 pm.

Arm Care for baseball begins after school today through Friday (January 9th) from 3:00 pm until 4:30 pm at the NHS Baseball Field. Tryouts will be after school on Monday (January 12th) at 3:00 pm at the NHS Baseball Field.

Flag football will begin conditioning sessions today and anyone interested in participating should plan to be in the NHS Commons Area immediately after school. See Coach Johnson if you have any questions.

The Drama Club will meet after school today at 3:00 pm in the NHS Auditorium.

The Debate Club will meet after school tomorrow at 3:00 pm in the NHS Media Center.

REMINDER: NHS is a closed campus and students are not permitted to leave campus for lunch. Additionally, students may not have food dropped off or delivered to them at campus. Students are not allowed to bring Polar Cups or “to go” cups to campus. Water bottles are encouraged and we have several bottle filling stations around campus.

NO parking is allowed in any other areas on campus, including along the gym or the football field. If you park in any unauthorized area on the NHS campus, your vehicle is subject to a ticket and the possibility of being towed from the property.

REMINDER: A new law passed by the Florida Legislature significantly limits when students may use cell phones or other personal wireless communication devices, such as smartwatches, earbuds, headphones, and tablets. These devices must remain powered off and stored out of sight during instructional time. Students have access to district-approved instructional technology throughout the school day and families who need to reach their child due to an emergency or other safety concern should contact the NHS Front Office directly.
