It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther! 🐾
Here are the announcements for Wednesday, August 13th:
REMINDER: Panthers, don't forget to bring your laptop and charging cord to school EVERY DAY as most of the testing this year will be done on the laptops. Additionally, these laptops provide important access to digital textbooks and assist students in transitioning between classwork, testing, and homework. (If your laptop has stopped working or has other operational issues, please bring it so the NHS Site Tech, Mr. Phillips, can investigate and diagnose any issues.)
Panthers, when arriving at school each day you are not allowed to hang out in the parking lot areas or inside cars. You must proceed to the gate and promptly enter school.
There will be an informational meeting for the NHS Robotics Club after school tomorrow at 3:00 pm in Mrs. Talkington’s classroom. Come out and see what it’s all about!
There will be an informational meeting after school tomorrow in Dr. Woods’ classroom at 3:00 pm for any girls who are interested in joining the Lady Panther golf team. Please see Dr. Woods if you have any questions.
There will be a mandatory parent/player meeting for any students interested in playing fall or spring baseball tomorrow at 6:30 pm at the NHS baseball field. Please make plans to attend!
IMPORTANT: A new law passed by the Florida Legislature significantly limits when students may use cell phones or other personal wireless communication devices, such as smartwatches, earbuds, headphones, and tablets. These devices must remain powered off and stored out of sight during instructional time. Students have access to district-approved instructional technology throughout the school day and families who need to reach their child due to an emergency or other safety concern should contact the NHS Front Office directly.
Coach Smith is starting athletic conditioning (which will be available to all students), beginning Tuesday (August 19th) and continuing on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. All interested students will meet in front of the NHS Gym at 3:00 pm on the 1st day. Students must have a current physical in order to participate. Make sure to speak with (Mr.) Coach Roundtree if you have any questions!
We are committed to the success of ALL our students! Panthers, please remember the Panther Way to Success:
*Be Reliable - Maintain consistency with what you say and do
*Be Respectful - Show consideration of someone or something
*Be Responsible - Be dependable, keep promises, and honor commitments
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something (www.getfortifyfl.com).
