It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther! 🐾
Here are the announcements for Friday, May 1st:
REMINDER: ALL STUDENTS parking on NHS school property MUST have a parking decal and parking is ONLY permitted in designated areas (junior and senior parking lots). NO parking is allowed in any other areas on campus, including along the gym or the football field. If you park in any unauthorized area on the NHS campus, your vehicle is subject to a ticket and the possibility of being towed from the property.
Panthers, make sure you are prepared for your upcoming tests by reviewing and studying all course materials provided, getting a good night's rest, eating a good breakfast, and coming to school on time. Also, be on time for classes and testing! Late check ins and early check outs, even during lunch periods, cause disruptions to teaching, testing, and other school programs on campus, even if your child is not participating in testing on any particular day.
The last day for book checkouts from the library will be Friday (May 8th). After Wednesday (May 22nd), ALL overdue items will be marked lost and a fine will be assigned. So, please, return your library books to avoid placement on the debt list as this could affect your ability to participate in school events, including graduation.
Seniors, if you haven’t already done so, be sure to visit jostens.com and order your cap and gown as soon as possible. As a reminder, your graduation cap and gown CAN NOT be altered or decorated in any way prior to the ceremony.
We hope you find these Daily Announcements a useful resource for the happenings at NHS. These posts are also shared on our NHS website (https://www.alachuaschools.net/o/newberry-high) and remain available there for the entire school year. Here are the announcements for Thursday, April 30th:
REMINDER: A new law passed by the Florida Legislature significantly limits when students may use cell phones or other personal wireless communication devices, such as smartwatches, earbuds, headphones, and tablets. These devices must remain powered off and stored out of sight during instructional time. Students have access to district-approved instructional technology throughout the school day and families who need to reach their child due to an emergency or other safety concern should contact the NHS Front Office directly.
