It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther! 🐾
Here are the announcements for Tuesday, May 12th:
REMINDER: NHS is a closed campus and students are not permitted to leave campus for lunch. Additionally, students may not have food dropped off or delivered to them at campus. Students are not allowed to bring Polar Cups or “to go” cups to campus. Water bottles are encouraged and we have several bottle filling stations around campus.
Panthers, make sure you are prepared for the ongoing testing by reviewing and studying all course materials provided, getting a good night's rest, eating a good breakfast, and coming to school on time. Also, be on time for classes and testing! Late check ins and early check outs, even during lunch periods, cause disruptions to teaching, testing, and other school programs on campus, even if your child is not participating in testing on any particular day.
Representatives from the US Army are scheduled to be on the NHS campus on Thursday (May 14th) during Lunch A and Lunch B to provide information about military service after graduation. Make sure to stop by if you’d like to receive information.
2025-26 Yearbooks are in and will be distributed to 9th through 11th grade students tomorrow in the NHS Commons Area during your lunch period. There are also a limited number of Yearbooks still for sale. The cost is $65.00 (cash only) and can be purchased, first come first serve, from Mrs. Treese in her classroom during your Lunch time.
Seniors, don’t forget your final exams will be given this week:
Wednesday - English and Science
Thursday - Math and Social Studies
Friday - All electives
Make sure to finish strong!
Remember, after Wednesday (May 22nd), ALL overdue items will be marked lost and a fine will be assigned. So, please, return your library books to avoid placement on the debt list as this could affect your ability to participate in school events, including graduation.
The district encourages all families to be on the lookout for personalized letters coming home in the mail with important information about new school zones for the 2026-27 school year.
ACPS is continuing its Beyond the Bell program, offering virtual after-school counseling and academic advising to help boost academic achievement and emotional wellness for students. For more information, visit: www.sbac.edu/BeyondTheBell.
We are committed to the success of ALL our students! Panthers, please remember the Panther Way to Success:
*Be Reliable - Maintain consistency with what you say and do
*Be Respectful - Show consideration of someone or something
*Be Responsible - Be dependable, keep promises, and honor commitments
